During the Six Nations I'll be posting pretty regularly on a blog devoted to rugby-related drawings.
I get to watch a lot of rugby and do a lot of drawing – it's a win-win!

I've been using instagram and twitter lately to publish photos of any drawings that I've done. This one is based on a shocking pun. If anyone can guess the title I'll do a drawing just for you.

Character Study

A few attempts to draw a man who watches rugby matches in the same pub as me. He has a sunbed tan and lots of rolls in his neck, but he's sort of statuesque at the same time.

Happy New Year! It's been a while since I put anything up here so I'll start with this Christmas Card. Duncan Molloy wrote a seasonal story and I made it into a card, featuring three linocut illustrations. Better photographs will follow.

Language worked on this Barnardos campaign to protect children in the upcoming budget. Paul O'Connell and Sonya Lennon lent their support, the aim being to get 10,000 signatures on a petition against cuts to child services. No money or time required, just your name. http://www.barnardos.ie/knows/

I got a nice commission a few weeks ago to make some posters and promotional materials for two shows in the Dublin Fringe Festival this month. Here are some drawings from the first one, Luca & the Sunshine, and the final poster.

The brief: To fill an A0 sheet with subjects beginning with the letter B. To complicate matters more, each must be interacting with the next in some action also beginning with the letter B. An emotion beginning with B is worth extra points.

Talpini Media Logo Design

Just finished this logo for my friend Pete Moles' new film company. According to Pete "Talpini is a tribe (below genus, above family) of moles, specifically 'Old World Moles'". Look out for this little critter at a cinema near you!

Award Nomination

A leaflet on domestic abuse that I made at Language has been nominated for the An Post Direct Marketing Awards 2011 – fingers and toes are crossed! Full book here.

A poster I made for a new show from up-and-coming theatre company Fast and Loose. If you're around Dublin next week check out Richard III in the Chapel in Dublin Castle, should be something special.
