A poster made with lino-cut and letterpress, for the National Library exhibition on WB Yeats.
While looking for something else I found these drawings on a backup drive. This is (part of) an etching I made 6 years ago. I was making books where the figures interacted in some way with a line at a constant height. On each page the line would be something different. On this page it was water...
...and here it was a washing line.
This is from an abandoned (or maybe just postponed) project to illustrate F. Scott Fitzgerald's A Diamond as Big as the Ritz.
Performing 'Storybook' at For The Love Of (Live) in Filmbase. The piece was written and directed by Duncan Molloy (visuals by me) and performed by Jody O'Neill and me.
Some sketches from the concept and storyboarding stage.
Illustrations from a collection of writing by various authors. The works in the collection were written on the island of Inisbofin off the west coast of Ireland. The contributors were inspired by the raw beauty of the landscape and the atmosphere on the island. The launch of the book (which I designed) was on Inisbofin in September.
A series of illustrations I made while working with Conor & David. The brief was to show the animal characteristics that exist in human personality types.
Illustrations inspired by Dave Eggers' series of "Short short stories" published in the Guardian on Saturdays. I took a small selection of these and made a typeset, illustrated and hand-bound book.
